The general purpose of this paper is to analyze how global governance works, who are its actors and how the Security Council fits in this description. The methodology consisted of a non extensive bibliographical review about the understanding of global governance, how it works and who does it; followed by the normative roles of the Security Council and of the United Nations found in the own UN Charter, and a brief analysis of the Council’s and Russia’s actions in two cases studies: The Libyan intervention and the subsequent war on Syria. A change in the dynamics and operation of the Security Council could be seen as a result.en-US
