Descripción :	This research proposes to discuss the theoretical aspects of the term strategic partnership in international relations, defending its employment to refer to priority bilateral relations, which stand out for historical, geographic and geopolitical factors, as well as for their depth and, at the same time, extension of agendas. For this, it is proposed to define other concepts also used in international relations, with special attention to the term strategic alliance that is often used as a synonym of strategic partnership. In addition, it is intended to understand the use of the term in certain Brazilian bilateral relations. It is also reiterated the importance of discussing and deepening terms used in the area of international relations, thus justifying the extensive conceptual revision of this article. Parceria estratégica trata-se de um conceito amplamente utilizado nas relações internacionais, porém ainda impreciso e frequentemente utilizado de modo abstrato ou como mero recurso discursivo. Isso se faz notar por meio das relações bilaterais brasileiras durante o governo Lula. Nessa perspectiva, esta pesquisa tem o objetivo principal de discutir os contornos teóricos do termo parceria estratégica nas relações internacionais, propondo alcançar uma definição mais precisa para este objeto, principalmente no que diz respeito às relações bilaterais brasileiras. Para isso, pretende-se, a partir de ampla revisão da literatura da área, compreender as definições e usos do termo, aprofundando a análise com dois exemplos de parcerias ditas estratégicas para o Brasil durante a primeira década do século XXI, são estas com a Argentina e com a Venezuela. Contudo, antes disso, aponta-se a necessidade de clarificar outros conceitos também utilizados para se referir a relações interestatais, com especial atenção ao termo aliança estratégica que, frequentemente, é utilizado como sinônimo de parceria estratégica. A partir disso, defende-se o emprego de parceria estratégica para tratar de relações bilaterais marcadamente prioritárias, que se destacam por fatores históricos, geopolíticos, geográficos e/ou identitários, bem como pela sua profundidade e, ao mesmo tempo, abrangência de agendas. No Brasil, o termo é adotado para muitas relações bilaterais, sem o devido rigor teórico. No caso da Venezuela, apesar de ser caracterizada parceira/aliada estratégica, esta não atingiu os parâmetros para ser considerada desse modo no período. Por outro lado, as relações estabelecidas com a Argentina têm se caracterizado como uma legítima parceria estratégica brasileira. Dito isto, ressalta-se que esta pesquisa é qualitativa, baseia-se em uma revisão bibliográfica e documental para alcançar os objetivos estabelecidos. Ademais, utiliza-se alguns aportes teóricos do construtivismo para melhor compreensão do objeto de estudo.     Abstract: The strategic partnership is a concept widely used in international relations, but still inaccurate and often used in an abstract way or as a mere discursive resource; This is observed in Brazilian bilateral relations during the Lula administration. From this perspective, this research has the main objective of discussing the theoretical contours of the term strategic partnership in international relations, proposing to reach a new definition for this object, especially concerning Brazilian bilateral relations. For this, it is intended, from an extensive review of the literature of the area, to understand the definitions and uses of the term; deepening the analysis with two examples of so-called strategic partnerships for Brazil during the first decade of the 21st century, these are with Argentina and Venezuela. However, before that, it is pointed out the need to clarify other concepts also used to refer to interstate relations, with particular attention to the term strategic alliance, which is often used as a synonym for the strategic partnership. From this, we defend the employment of strategic partnership to refer to priority bilateral relations, which stand out for historical, geopolitical, geographic and/or identity factors, as well as for their depth and, at the same time, extension of agendas. In Brazil, the term is adopted for many bilateral relations, without due theoretical rigour. In the case of Venezuela, despite being characterized strategic partner/ally, it did not reach the parameters to be considered in this way in the period. On the other hand, the relations established with Argentina have been characterized as a legitimate Brazilian strategic partnership. It is emphasized that this research is qualitative, based on a bibliographic and documentary review to achieve the established objectives. In addition, some theoretical contributions of constructivism are used to understand the object of study better. Key-words: Strategic Partnership. Alliance. Brazil. Argentina.
