Descripción :	From the 20th till the 21st centuries, the United States have been playing a significant role in the geopolitical and geoeconomic energy agenda, with impacts for the whole international system. The energy issue comprehends not only security, but also economic policies for the Americans, with domestic and external effects for the country. In this context, the emergence of new international contenders in the energy market, either as producers or consumers, the development of international environmental regimes that affect the energy matrix deepen the relevance of this theme for international relations. The goal of the text is to evaluate, starting with a brief historical account, the evolution of the energy issue in the US, and nowadays the actions of Trump´s Republican government leading the White House, and its impacts for the continuity or break of American power projection in the energy sector. So, we will try to present the path of securitization of the country´s energy issued, and the effects on the national strategic and economic agendas, and their link with the global scenario, considering its multilateral and state dimensions.   Dos séculos XX ao XXI, os Estados Unidos têm desempenhado um papel significativo na agenda da geopolítica e da geoeconomia da energia, com impactos sobre todo o sistema internacional. A questão energética envolve tanto a temática de segurança quanto a econômica norte-americana, gerando efeitos internos e externos para o país. Neste contexto, a emergência de novos desafiadores internacionais no mercado da energia, como produtores e consumidores, o desenvolvimento de regimes internacionais ambientais que afetam as matrizes energéticas acentuam a importância do tema para as relações internacionais. O objetivo do texto é avaliar, a partir de uma breve contextualização histórica a evolução da questão energética para os Estados Unidos, e conjunturalmente a ação da gestão republicana de Donald Trump na Casa Branca e seus impactos sobre a continuidade e descontinuidade da projeção de poder norte-americana no setor energético. Desta forma, procurar-se-á ressaltar a trajetória da securitização energética no país, os efeitos sobre as agendas estratégicas e econômicas nacionais e as interações com o cenário global, em suas dimensões multilaterais e estatais.     Abstract: From the 20th till the 21st century, the United States have been playing a significant role in the geopolitical and geoeconomic energy agenda, with impacts for the whole international system.
