dc.descriptionThe purpose of this investigation was to highlight the Zero Hora (ZH) reports before, during and after the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. The research was quantitative and descriptive. We conclude that the newspaper sought to highlight the athletes from Rio Grande do Sul who stood out in the competitions. There was a quantitative leap in news throughout the event, as the results were being known. It can be seen that, among the 22 Paralympic modalities that showed the most evidence, are athletics and swimming. As the end of the event approached, the ZH began to direct its news to athletes who achieved the highest number of medals for Brazil. Its effects, therefore, go beyond the informative action, since they generate identities, support practices and entities and dynamically share a discursive (re) constitution of such sports in Brazil.en-US
dc.descriptionO objetivo desta investigação foi identificar a ocorrência e o conteúdo das reportagens da Zero Hora (ZH) antes, durante e após a edição dos Jogos Paralímpicos Rio 2016. A pesquisa foi de caráter quantitativo e descritivo. Concluímos que o jornal procurou evidenciar os atletas sul-rio-grandenses que se destacaram nas competições. Houve um aumento crescente com relação à quantidade de reportagens à medida que se aproximava a data de realização do evento. Percebeu-se que, entre as 22 modalidades paraolímpicas que apresentaram maior evidência, estão o atletismo e a natação. Conforme o fim do evento se aproximou, o ZH passou a dirigir suas reportagens a atletas que alcançaram o maior número de medalhas para o Brasil. Seus efeitos, assim, vão para além da ação informativa, uma vez que geram identidades, fundamentam práticas e entidades e partilham, de modo dinâmico, uma (re)constituição discursiva de tais esportes no Brasil.pt-BR
