| Descripción : | ResumenEl presente estudio tiene por objetivo aproximarnos al sentido que la palabra revolución, tan invocada por los políticos venezolanos del siglo XIX, tenía en la élite de aquel momento. Más allá de habersido empleada como simple rótulo para legitimar rebeliones de montoneras, existía algo en ella que le daba un prestigio especial. Una revisión más detenida de algunos textos, si bien no niega esta situación, también ofrece pistas sobre una filosofía de la historia e, incluso, un debate en torno al socialismo en la Caracas de 1855 a 1869, que merece ser estudiado y que aporta significativas influencias en el pensamiento venezolano posterior.The revolutionary republic. The idea of revolution in 19th century Venezuelan political thoughtAbstractThis study aims to approach the meaning of revolution in the 19th century, a word so frequently used by Venezuelan politicians of that time. In addition to being used as a simple unlawful action to legitimize rebellions from irregulars, there has been something giving them a special reputation. A careful review of some texts, while not discarding this situation,offers clues as to a philosophy of history, and even,a debate over socialism in Caracas between 1855 and 1869. It deserves to be studied, for it would meaning fully influence the Venezuelan political thought in subsequent years. |
