Descripción :	The role play refers to the constant role shifts in the routines of circus, theater, and variety shows, which the ludar “gypsies” of Mexico perform in their tours across the northern part of the country. Role play evokes the anthropologist’s system of placesin fieldwork (Favret-Saada, 1977). In this system of roles, the anthropologist takes the role or roles assigned to her, or that she negotiates, which she reflexively takes on during fieldwork. The methodology and epistemology that underlie ethnography and anthropology are directly linked to the relationship between the researcher and the individuals with whom she conducts fieldwork, as well as the individuals and institutions of their surroundings. The dynamic relationships between ludars and non-ludars, places ludars, through the family performance, as those who “make someone do”, a dimension at the center of the social relations assigned to this population. The complexity of roles and relationships goes beyond this domain. The purpose of this text is to identify and explain the different roles within ludar life from the point of view of anthropology. El juego de roles alude al cambio de rol constante en los números del espectáculo de circo, teatro y variedad, que los ludar “gitanos” de México practican en su circulación por el norte del país. El juego de roles evoca el sistema de lugares de la antropóloga en el trabajo de campo (Favret-Saada, 1977). En este sistema, la antropóloga toma el lugar o lugares que le son asignados, los cuales negocia o asume reflexivamente durante el trabajo de campo. La metodología y epistemología que implican la etnografía y la antropología están directamente ligadas a la relación entre la investigadora y las personas con las que efectúa la investigación, así como con las del entorno y las instituciones. Las relaciones dinámicas entre los ludar y los no-ludar sitúa a los primeros, mediante el espectáculo familiar, como los que “hacen hacer” a alguien, dimensión que se encuentra en el centro de las relaciones sociales adjudicadas a esta población. La complejidad de los lugares y las relaciones desborda dicho ámbito. Este artículo se propone identificar y explicar los diferentes lugares en la vida ludar, desde la perspectiva antropológica.
