dc.descriptionBuilding on two ideal-types that represent the antithesis of the expected ethi - cal position of a researcher (the thief ethnographer and the indifferent ethnographer), I explore the limits and challenges of finding an ethical position in contemporary ethnographic practice. In contrast with these two figures -the thief ethnographer and the indifferent ethnographer- my position is that in any type of ethnographic research--not exclusively those in which there is an overt identification with subaltern struggles--ethical considerations require the figure of the committed ethnographer.en-US
dc.descriptionA partir de dos tipos ideales que representan la antítesis de la posición ética esperable en un investigador (el etnógrafo-asaltante y el etnógrafo-indiferente), se argumentan los límites y desafíos de una posición ética implicada en la práctica etnográfica contemporánea. En contraste con estas figuras del etnógrafo-asaltante y la del etnógrafo-indiferente, mi planteamiento es que cualquier tipo de investigación etnográfica, y no solo en estas que hay una identificación con las luchas de los sectores subalternos, las consideraciones éticas suponen esta figura del etnógrafo-comprometido.es-ES
