dc.descriptionEn Chile, los sucesivos proyectos de plasmación de identi­dad(es) colectiva(s) , desde comienzos del siglo XX hasta nuestros días, pese a sus rasgos diferenciadores, presentan una notoria continuidad: un comportamiento de los que instauran el discurso social oficial que intenta anular la existencia del otro dentro del sí mismo y del otro fuera de uno mismo, en tanto co-forjador de una nación abierta, pluralista y verdaderamente moderna. El comportamiento basado en la anulación o negación o, en el mejor de los casos, en la represión de ese otro , encierra una actitud destructiva hacia lo ya existente, acti­tud que persiste a fines del siglo XX y albores del XXI en medio de una sociedad que se au­topercibe como moderna.es-ES
dc.descriptionIn Chile , in spite of the diverse characteristics reflected in the succession of collective identity projects since the beginning of the 20th century to the present, there exists one notorious example of continuity: the practice of instituting official discourse that attempts to annul the Other within and without oneself, in the formation of an open, pluralistic, or truly modern nation. This practice, based on annulment or negation, or in the best scenario, on the repression of the Other, encompasses a destructive attitude toward the pre-existing, an attitude that persists at the end of the 20th century and into the 21st in a society that perceives itself as modern.en-US
