dc.descriptionThe Twentieth-Century Latin American literature is full of stars: Borges, Cortázar, Rulfo, Garcia Marquez, Vargas Llosa, among others. However, Felisberto Hernandez (1902-1964) is yet a writer from whom little is known, at least among those readers outside of the academic world. In this article I try to incorporate Hernandez’s narrative to the intricate world of the Fantasy Literature, i.e., I try to locate some stories of the Uruguayan writer, and in that sense unravel some of their characteristics to connect them with the literary genre founded by Edgar Allan Poe.en-US
dc.descriptionLa narrativa latinoamericana del siglo XX está plena de estrellas de primer orden: Borges, Cortázar, Rulfo, García Márquez, Vargas Llosa, etc. Sin embargo, Felisberto Hernández (1902-1964) aún es un escritor del que poco se sabe, al menos, entre aquellos lectores alejados del mundo académico. Con este artículo busco incorporar la narrativa de Hernández al intrincado tronco de la literatura fantástica. Es decir, intento ubicar algunos relatos del escritor uruguayo y, en tal sentido, desentrañar algunas de sus características para filiarlas con el género literario fundado por Edgar Allan Poe.  es-ES
