There is recurring The discussion about the book's genre affiliation of the book is recurring among specialized readers. “Impossible biography” , “essay-like biography” , “biographical essay” are some of the preferred clauses terms to describe it. The form that the bond between biographer and biographee assumes in La operación Masotta is the opportunity to examine and argue the kinship which ””by the ways and resources of the mundane conversation”” biography and essay hold since at least the Eeighteenth Ccentury. The importance Correas attributes to the anecdote in biographical writing participates of the tradition that approaches connects both genres.en-US

La reflexión en torno al estatuto genérico del libro es recurrente entre los lectores especializados. “Biografí­a imposible” , “biografí­a ensayí­stica” , “ensayo biográfico” son algunas de las cláusulas preferidas para caracterizarlo. La forma que el ví­nculo entre biógrafo y biografiado asume en La operación Masotta es la oportunidad de examinar y argumentar el parentesco que, por la ví­a de los modos y recursos de la conversación mundana, biografí­a y ensayo mantienen desde por lo menos el siglo XVIII. La importancia que Correas le atribuye a la anécdota en la escritura biográfica participa de la tradición que aproxima ambos géneros.es-ES
