Descripción :	A partir del problema de investigación ¿Cuál es la proporción entre el número de alumnos que ingresan y los que egresan en el programa virtual inglés para todos los colombianos ofrecido por el SENA, sedes Buga y Tuluá, en el periodo comprendido entre el primer semestre del año 2008 y el segundo semestre del año 2009?, se tiene como propósito identificar los factores que influyen para la culminación de los estudios en el programa virtual de inglés, identificando los tiempos promedio para culminar el programa; el posicionamiento laboral de los egresados, así como el diseño de estrategias que conduzcan a disminuir la deserción de estudiantes en los programas de educación virtual. El método se abordó a través de una orientación cuantitativa- cualitativa y las técnicas de recolección de datos empleadas fueron la entrevista estructurada, el cuestionario y la encuesta electrónica. Desde la perspectiva del autor, el método cuantitativo permitió describir y explicar los hechos sociales que en sus manifestaciones externas pudieron ser perceptibles y registrables a partir de la investigación, y el método cualitativo favoreció el análisis e interpretación subjetiva de los fenómenos sociales, a través del análisis de los argumentos de cada uno de los participantes, de los datos y de las diferentes situaciones que se desarrollaron en el estudio de campo, lo cual permitió una aproximación a los factores relacionados con la eficiencia terminal, encontrando unos altos índices de deserción, asociados a diferentes causas, lo que permitió entrar a diseñar unas estrategias tendientes a reducirlos y a mejorar los de posicionamiento laboral de los alumnos certificados. Our purpose is to identify the factors that influence for the conclusion of studios in the English Virtual Program, by identifying the average times for finding the program. The laboural positioning of the students graduated, such as the design of strategies that conveys to decrease the students` desertion in the virtual education program. The method was introduced through of a quantitative and qualitative orientation and the data collecting technics used were the structured interview, the questionary and the electronical survey. From the author`s perspective, the quantitative method allowed describing and explaining the social facts that in their external manifestation could be perceptible and registrable from the researching, and the qualitative method promoted the subjective analysis and the interpretation of the social phenomena through the analysis of the arguments of each one of the different situations that were developed in the field`s studio which permitted an approximation to the factors related with the terminal efficiency, finding high indexes of desertion, associated to different causes which allowed designing some strategies tending to reduce them and to improve them in the laboural positioning of the certificated students.
