| Descripción : | The aim of this paper is to study the myths of alterity that have mediated the interpretation of the Selk’nam culture of Tierra del Fuego from the earlier voyagers to the antropologists such as Gusinde or Chapman. It proposes too a reflection on a method named here ethnographic recreation, that is the anthropologist induces his informants to reproduce some aspects of their cultural tradition in order to document them. Finally, the shift in the anthropological perspective from extermination to etnogesis is revised. Planteamos aquí el estudio de los mitos de alteridad que han mediado en la interpretación de la cultura selk’nam de Tierra del Fuego desde los primeros viajeros europeos hasta antropólogos como Gusinde o Chapman. Discutimos el método de recreación etnográfica según el cual el etnógrafo induce a sus informantes a reproducir aspectos de su tradición cultural para documentarlos. Por último, subrayamos el giro de la perspectiva antropológica entre los términos de exterminio y etnogénesis. |
