dc.description | The paper presents the rational, development and history of one of the most unique and large scale studies carried out to study the well-being of children. The study presented in the paper is based on the understanding that children are active human-beings in their own right and during childhood and that childhood is also a stage of itself. Further, it is based on the understanding that well-being is also a subjective phenomenon and thus should be studied based on the researched population reports. In our case it is children ages 8-12 and this multi-national studies includes a representative sample of children from 40 countries in a number of phases. The paper presents not only the basis for the study but also its development through 3 stages and its current status and is ended with some thoughts for the future. | en-US |
dc.description | Este artículo presenta la justificación, el desarrollo y la historia de uno de los estudios más singulares y a gran escala que se han llevado a cabo para investigar el bienestar de los niños. El estudio que aquí se presenta se basa en la comprensión de que los niños son seres humanos activos por propio derecho durante toda su infancia, y que la infancia es también una etapa en sí misma. Más aún, está basado en la idea de que el bienestar es también un fenómeno subjetivo y que debe estudiarse en función de los informes de la población investigada. En nuestro caso esta población está compuesta por niños y niñas de edades comprendidas entre los 8 y los 12 años y el estudio multinacional que se describe incluye una muestra representativa de niños de 40 países, en varias fases. El artículo presenta no solo las bases del estudio, sino también su desarrollo a través de tres etapas así como su estado actual, y finaliza con algunas reflexiones de interés para el futuro. | es-ES |
dc.description | O artigo apresenta o racional, o desenvolvimento e a história de um dos estudos mais exclusivos e em larga escala realizados para estudar o bem-estar das crianças. O estudo apresentado no artigo baseia-se no entendimento de que as crianças são seres humanos ativos por si só e durante a infância e que a infância também é um estágio em si. Além disso, baseia-se no entendimento de que o bem-estar também é um fenômeno subjetivo e, portanto, deve ser estudado com base nos relatórios populacionais pesquisados. No nosso caso, são crianças de 8 a 12 anos e esses estudos multinacionais incluem uma amostra representativa de crianças de 40 países em várias fases. O artigo apresenta não apenas a base do estudo, mas também seu desenvolvimento em três etapas e seu status atual e termina com algumas reflexões para o futuro. | pt-PT |
