dc.descriptionThis article examines the main discussions about the European spirit in the intellectual debates sponsored by the League of Nations. Using as a reference the congresses on intellectual cooperation held in various European capitals between 1933 and 1936, we will analyse the perspectives and limits of the reflections on the Europeanism of the intellectuals in the 1930s. Through the documentation of the International Institute of Intellectual Cooperation, you can reconstruct some of the main lines of this reflection developed within the intellectual elites of the time. The study sheds light on the intellectual contradictions raised by the binomial universality and nationalism, or the paradox of a liberal internationalism which, despite the novelty of its proposals, preserved a Eurocentric notion of the world.en-US
dc.descriptionEn este artículo se examinan las principales discusiones en torno al espíritu europeo en los debates intelectuales auspiciados por la Sociedad de Naciones. Utilizando como referencia los congresos de cooperación intelectual celebrados en varias capitales europeas entre 1933 y 1936, se analizan las perspectivas y los límites de las reflexiones sobre el europeísmo de los intelectuales en los años treinta. A través de la documentación del Instituto Internacional de Cooperación Intelectual se pueden reconstruir algunas de las líneas maestras de esta reflexión desarrollada en el seno de las élites intelectuales de la época. El estudio arroja luz sobre las contradicciones intelectuales que suscitaban el binomio universalidad y nacionalismo, o la paradoja de un internacionalismo liberal que, a pesar de la novedad de sus propuestas, conservaba una noción eurocéntrica del mundoes-ES
