| dc.description | Europeanism or Europeanisms is not a false dilemma. The traditional narrative of a process of European integration designed by Monnet and developed by the Communities is definitely questioned. There are and were other alternatives which may not be labeled as Euroscepticism. The intergovernmental cooperation defended by Great Britain had and has more way to go than the one that has been wanted to recognize but it failed to lead the integration process for several reasons, in which, by the way, it never believed. The Occidental Union, sponsored by the Labour, and the Council of Europe, inspired by Churchill, both deserve a historical review which this work modestly wants to contribute to. | en-US |

El relato canónico de un proceso de integración europea diseñado por Monnet y desarrollado por las Comunidades está definitivamente cuestionado. Hay y hubo otras alternativas que no deben encajonarse bajo el epígrafe de euroescepticismo. La cooperación intergubernamental defendida por Gran Bretaña tuvo y tiene más recorrido del que se le ha querido reconocer, aunque por diversas razones no logró liderar el proceso de integración, en el que, por otra parte, nunca creyó. La Unión Occidental, patrocinada por los laboristas, y el Consejo de Europa, inspirado por Churchill, merecen una revisión histórica a la que este trabajo quiere contribuir. | es-ES |
