Descripción :	Uno de los fenómenos sociales más significativos de finales del siglo XX cubano fue el reavivamiento eclesial. Del abanico de iglesias establecidas en Cuba, hubo dos en las que el reavivamiento se manifestó con mayor pujanza: la Iglesia católica y la Iglesia bautista occidental. Pero ¿cómo explicar este fenómeno en una nación en la que, al triunfar la revolución de 1959, se adoptó el marxismo soviético, uno de cuyos componentes fundamentales es el ateísmo científico como ideología y metodología para la refundación de la nación, relegando a la iglesia a la periferia social por más de 30 años? El artículo que presentamos pretende develar el vínculo existente entre la crisis socioeconómica de la década de 1990, producida por la desaparición del bloque socialista europeo y el reavivamiento eclesial experimentado en Cuba en los tempranos años noventa. http://id.caicyt.gov.ar/ark:/s18537081/1dy5pqpbo One of the most significant social phenomena of the Cuban 20 century was the ecclesiastical revival. Of the range of churches established in Cuba, there were the Catholic Church and the western Baptist Church two where this revival was manifested with greater strength. But, how to explain this phenomenon in a nation where, after the triumph of the 1959 revolution, Soviet Marxism was adopted, one of whose fundamental components is scientific atheism, as an ideology and methodology for the refunding of the nation, relegating the Church to the social periphery for more than 30 years? The paper that we present intends to reveal the existing link between the socio-economic crisis of the 1959, produced by the disappearance of the European socialist bloc, and the ecclesiastical revival experienced in Cuba in the early 1990s.
