Descripción :	This article focuses on group theater aspects that take place in the streets, in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil: its motivations, conditions, and relationships established as a consequence of an urban space occupation through theatrical performances. Through the analysis of discourses from representatives of five theater groups from Porto Alegre (which were collected through a seminar and interviews), in a dialogue with performing arts, history, and anthropology scholars, we reflect on the attempt to occupy the city as an aesthetic choice and on the type of relationship established between theater performances and street audiences, aiming to broaden the understanding of the relationships between the theater and the street in the present times.  L’article se concentre sur les aspects du théâtre en groupe dans les rues du Porto Alegre: ses motivations, conditions et relations établies en conséquence de l’occupation de l’espace urbain par voie de représentations théâtrales. À travers des analyses du discours de représentants de cinq groupes de théâtre à Porto Alegre (recueillies dans un séminaire et un entretien), en dialogue avec des chercheurs des arts du spectacle, de l’histoire et de l’anthropologie, on réfléchit sur l’occupation de la ville comme un choix esthétique et la relation établie entre le spectacle et le public dans la rue, en vue d’élargir la compréhension sur les relations entre le théâtre et la ville contemporaine.  This article focuses on group theater aspects that take place in the streets, in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil: its motivations, conditions, and relationships established as a consequence of an urban space occupation through theatrical performances.
