Título :	Religião e democratização no Brasil: reflexões sobre os anos 80

Descripción :	Tomada como sintoma de uma transformação da política, a luta pela hegemonização de “democracia” expôs, nos anos 80, um dos momentos de manifestação do político. Neste contexto, o papel articulatório desempenhado pelo discurso religioso no surgimento da fronteira representada pelos movimentos sociais, organizações não-governamentais, novo sindicalismo, PT, etc., somente recentemente foi estudado como tal. Este trabalho investiga a natureza de articulação religiosa do campo democrático de base, na sua dupla face de reforma religiosa e de refiguração do discurso religioso em discurso político, acompanhando os deslocamentos experimentados pelas identidades envolvidas no processo (católicos e protestantes, clérigos e leigos, religiosos e não-religiosos). O saldo das múltiplas mudanças – teóricas e práticas, teológicas e pastorais – ocorridas no período é revisto a seguir, concluído-se com indicações dos desdobramentos para a teoria política da politização religiosa contemporânea. If one takes the struggle for the hegemonization of “democracy” during the 1980s, it can be seen as a symptom of a transformation of politics, bringing up the question of the political. In this context, only recently has the articulatory role of religious discourse been studied as such as regards the rise of a frontier represented by the social movements, non-governmental organizations, the new unionism, the Workers’Party, etc. This paper discusses the nature of the religious articulation of a grassroots democratic field, in its double bind as a religious reformation and redescription of religious as political discourse, and follows the dislocations undergone by the identities involved in the process (both catholic and protestant, clergy and lay, religious and non-religious). The outcomes of the multiple changes which took place in the period (theoretical and non-religious, theological and pastoral ones) are reviewed subsequently. I conclude by indicating some intimations to political theory of the contemporary politicization of religion.
