Descripción :	O presente trabalho tem como objetivo identificar se a regulação pública da violência conjugal contra a mulher, através da Lei Maria da Penha, confere com a demanda das vítimas que acionam o sistema judiciário. Sendo assim, buscou -se problematizar a efetividade da Lei 11.340/06 e o seu r ompimento total com a Lei 9.099/95, através de uma pesquisa na 4ª Vara Criminal do Fórum da Comarca de Santa Maria, RS. Os resultados indicaram que as vítimas parecem desacreditar que o sistema penal seja um instrumento efetivo para solucionar os conflitos de gênero. This paper aims to identify whether the public regulation of conjugal violence against women, through the Maria da Penha Law, meets the demands of the victims that trigger the judicial system. Thus, we sought to problematize the effectiveness of Law 11,340 / 06 and its total breach with Law 9,099 / 95, through a research in the 4th Criminal Court of the County Forum of Santa Maria, RS. The results indicated that the victims seem to discredit the penal system as an effective instrument for resolving gender conflicts.
