Descripción :	This research is considered a contribution to the reflection about the way in which the Luis Amigó School of San Andrés Island develops curricular contents that include cross-referenced or specific themes related to Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, which facilitate the identification of socio-cultural elements, cultural, institutional and pedagogical aspects in order to permit the reformulation of these contents so they respond to the needs of the National System of Human Rights and that take into account the needs of the island context, in such a way that they can supply tools for a better coexistence in the educational community and in the whole society of the island. By recognizing the importance of the classroom environment to achieve the socialization of these initiatives, as a contribution to the construction of empowered citizens committed to the promotion of these rights, this paper seeks to identify the elements that are required to incorporate into the curriculum of the Luis Amigó School in a program on Human Rights. This program should respond to the recommendations of the National Human Rights System, but also must take into account the needs of the island’s context, so that tools can be provided for a better coexistence in the community of the island. Esta investigación se considera un aporte a la reflexión sobre la forma en que el colegio Luis Amigó de San Andrés Isla, desarrolla contenidos curriculares que incluyan de manera transversal o especifica temáticas relacionadas con Derechos Humanos y Derecho Internacional Humanitario, que faciliten la identificación de elementos socio culturales, institucionales y pedagógicos para proponer la reformulación de estos contenidos que respondan a las necesidades del Sistema Nacional de Derechos Humanos y que tenga en cuenta las necesidades del contexto insular. Se busca así que se pueda aportar herramientas para una mejor convivencia al interior de la comunidad educativa y, en general en toda la comunidad de la isla. Con el reconocimiento de la importancia del aula para lograr la socialización de estas iniciativas, como aporte a la construcción de ciudadanos empoderados y comprometidos con la promoción de estos derechos, este trabajo pretende identificar los elementos que deben incorporarse en una cátedra en Derechos Humanos en el currículo del colegio Luis Amigó. Esta cátedra debe responder a las recomendaciones del Sistema Nacional de Derechos Humanos a la vez que debe tener en cuenta las necesidades del contexto insular para que, de esta manera, se puedan aportar herramientas para una mejor convivencia en la comunidad de la isla.
