dc.descriptionFaced with the danger of extinction of native languages, the project “Documenting languages of the People of the Center”, carried through the DoBeS (Dokumentatio Bedrohter Sprachen) program of mpi (Max Planck Institute) in partnership with the iiap (Instituto de Investigaciones de la Amazonía Peruana), illustrates the uses of language documentation as a means to safeguard and protect the Amazon sociocultural heritage. We present here a quick characterization of the People Center, one of the self-designations of the communities in which the project has been carried out, as well as of some of the software and formats used for the sociocultural documentation. Finally, we expose projections for the transfer of the use of those methodological tools to the national and regional communities of speakers of endangered languages and to those who study them.en-US
dc.descriptionAnte el peligro de extinción de las lenguas originarias, el proyecto “Documentación de las lenguas de la Gente de centro”, realizado a través del programa DoBeS (Dokumentatio Bedrohter Sprachen) del mpi (Max Planck Institute) en convenio con el iiap (Instituto de Investigaciones de la Amazonía Peruana), ilustra la documentación lingüística como medio para salvaguardar y proteger el patrimonio sociocultural amazónico. Ofrecemos aquí una rápida caracterización tanto de la Gente de centro —una de las auto-denominaciones de las comunidades con las cuales se ha adelantado dicho proyecto— como de algunos de los programas informáticos y formatos utilizados en la documentación sociocultural; al final exponemos las proyecciones en cuanto transferencia de uso de estas herramientas metodológicas a la comunidad regional y nacional de hablantes de lenguas amenazadas y sus estudiosos.es-ES
