| Descripción : | This essay presents interpretations of state sovereignty prevalent in the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, from paradigmatic points of view that are rational and reflectivist, centric and peripheral, concerning the conception of foreign policy they propose and the historical reality within which they are formulated. Through these interpretations, the author sketches a possible guide to reflect on historical change and attempts to address the notion of sovereignty as an explicatory instrument and a means for political action, at the same time as upholding, or seeking to transform, established mechanisms of power. Este artículo expone las interpretaciones prevalecientes en el siglo XX y los albores del siglo XXI en torno de la soberanía estatal desde visiones paradigmáticas racionales y reflectivistas, céntricas y periféricas, que atienden a la concepción de política exterior planteada en ellas y a la realidad histórica en la que se formulan. A través de tales interpretaciones se formula un posible mapa desde el cual reflexionar sobre el devenir histórico; se pretende abordar la noción de soberanía como instrumento explicativo y de accionar político, al mismo tiempo que sostiene o busca transformar mecanismos de poder instituidos. |
