dc.descriptionEl objetivo primordial de este artículo es examinar los estudios principales de la última década sobre la cuestión agraria veracruzana de los siglos XIX y la primera parte del XX, y mostrar como éstos han enlazado los cambios de la tenencia de la tierra, el descontento agrario y la alternativa campesina a la rebelión popular. Se trata de ubicar estos estudios dentro de cinco perspectivas historiográficas: populismo, revisionismo, neopopulismo, poscolonialismo y la escuela de los Annales. Las más destacadas tendencias son la alternativa del campesinado en el siglo XIX y el surgimiento del ranchero en el XX en la lucha por el control de la tierra. Los estudios recientes sugieren que hay más continuidad que ruptura en los procesos de largo plazo en el campo.Haciendas, Ranchos and Indian Communities: New Perspectives on the Agrarian Question and Popular Rehelion in VeracruzThe primary objective of this article is to examine the major studies written over the past decade on the Veracruz agrarian questions in the 19th and 20th centuries and to show how they have linked land tenure changes, agrarian discontent, and peasant agency to popular rebellion. It places these studies within five historiographical perspectives: populism, revisionism, neo-populism, postcolonialism, and the Annales school. The two most striking trends are the emphasis placed on peasant agency in the 19 th century and the rise of the ranchero in 20th century in the struggle over control of the land. Recent scholarship suggests that there was more continuiity tan rupture in the long-term processes unfolding in the countryside. es-ES
