Descripción : This article presents an overview of architecture and city planning developed by the regimes which came from the Mexican Revolution in the states of Chihuahua, Baja California, Sinaloa and Sonora during the period 1917-1957. On the supposition that local architectural innovations and city-planning projects were included in the national project, material has been gathered which shows the identification of the municipality with revolutionary precepts. It can be seen that during this period state territories were integrated, population was redistributed, agriculture was restructured, new settlements emerged, capital cities were redefined, and architecture along with muralist painting and statuary was oriented to fulfil revolutionary values, according to each state?s experience. In this agriculture oriented region, agribusiness complexes and schools stood out particularly, homogenizing the urban landscape in a manner distinct from that of the Porfiriato.
