dc.description	Este artículo se centra en el estudio de las representaciones y las mentalidades colectivas en torno a la muerte en Cuba en el siglo XVIII. Se sitúa en el marco teórico de la historia cultural y la historia de las emociones, estableciendo un diálogo crítico con las principales corrientes historiográficas que han abordado este asunto. La investigación se enfoca en comprender la muerte en Cuba, en el siglo XVIII, a través de su patrón de comportamiento occidental. La metodología empleada se basa en el análisis de un corpus documental primario, extraído, sobre todo, del Archivo Nacional de Cuba y el Archivo del Arzobispado de La Habana, para mapear y comprender las percepciones y emociones del criollo ante las prácticas culturales  asociadas a la muerte, examinando cómo el ideal del «bien morir» y las preocupaciones escatológicas, relacionadas con la fe cristiana, moldearon el comportamiento y el imaginario social del cubano del mil setecientos.	es
dc.description	This article focuses on the study of representations and collective mentalities surrounding death in Cuba in the 18th century. It is situated within the theoretical framework of cultural history and the history of emotions, establishing a critical dialogue with the main historiographical currents that have addressed this topic. The research aims to understand death in Cuba in the 18th century through its pattern of Western behavior. The methodology used is based on the analysis of a primary documentary corpus, drawn mainly from the National Archives of Cuba and the Archive of the Archdiocese of Havana, to map and understand the perceptions and emotions of the Creole regarding the cultural practices associated with death, examining how the ideal of the «good death»and eschatological concerns related to the Christian faith shaped the behavior and social imagination of 18th-century Cubans.	en
