Antonio Negri, Maurizio Lazzarato and Michael Hardt have been proposing for more than one decade a new theory for the interpretation of the transformations we are presently undergoing. According to them, today we see the total affirmation of a historical impulse that emmerged from the passage of a feudal Europe to a modern one, which is the 'motivation' for an 'ethical existence' which "transforms itself into love for the future time". Such historical tendency would be called today the 'immaterial labour', a complete and radical transformation of work and production. This text tries to explore and present with a critical approach the bulk of those authors' theory.Antonio Negri, Maurizio Lazzarato e Michael Hardt propõem, há pelo menos uma década e meia, uma nova teoria para a interpretação das transformações que vivenciamos. Segundo eles, hoje se afirmaria em sua plena potência um impulso histórico surgido com a passagem da Europa feudal ao período moderno, que é a "motivação" por uma "vivência ética" que se "faz amor para o tempo por se constituir". Tal tendência histórica, hoje, se consubstanciaria no "trabalho imaterial", uma reformulação completa e radical do trabalho e da produção. Este texto procura expor criticamente o núcleo duro da nova teoria proposta por esses autores.
