| dc.description | The recent article published by geographer David Harvey (2020) in the midst of the pandemic situation we are going through, highlights the current role that Geography has in the analysis of COVID-19 as a problem not only health, but also, political, economic and environmental, which reveals the uneven territorial development generated by global capitalism. Likewise, the context of the pandemic highlights the central role of tourism as a form of human mobility and, therefore, as a propagator of COVID-19 on a planetary scale; at the same time as highlighting its importance as a form of global consumption, as it is one of the socioeconomic activities most affected by the measures taken to stop the propagation of the virus. The work proposes an essay on the tourism-COVID 19 relationship, according to the changes and renovations of Human Geography and the characteristics that tourism adopts in the current pandemic situation. In this sense, the analytical frameworks of contemporary Tourism Geographies are taken to board this relationship from complexity and in a broader social context. | en |
| dc.description | El reciente artículo publicado por el geógrafo David Harvey (2020) en medio de la situación de pandemia que estamos atravesando, pone en evidencia el rol más que vigente que tiene la Geografía en el análisis del COVID-19 como problemática no sólo sanitaria, sino también, política, económica y ambiental, que deja al descubierto el desarrollo territorial desigual generado por el capitalismo global. Asimismo, el contexto de pandemia, resalta el rol central del turismo como forma de movilidad humana y, por lo tanto, como propagador del COVID-19 a escala planetaria; a la vez que destaca, su importancia como forma de consumo global,al ser una de las actividades socioeconómicas más afectadas por las medidas tomadas para frenar la expansión del virus. El trabajo propone un ensayo sobre la relación turismo-COVID 19, acorde a los cambios y renovaciones de la Geografía Humana y a las características que adopta el turismo en la actual situación de pandemia. En este sentido, se toman los marcos analíticos de la Geografías del Turismo contemporánea, para abordar esta relación desde la complejidad y en un contexto social más amplio. | es |
