| dc.description | This article analyzes the representations that Senegalese migrants in Argentina have regarding their identification documents (ID cards and asylum seeker certificates). In this regard, I observed that migrants belonging to the mouride brotherhood fetishize the official documents (passports, identity documents, visas, asylum seekers certificates), as a response to the difficulty of obtaining them, in the different stages of the migration process. In particular, these representations are examined in relation to a Mouride religious event held in 2009 in the City of Buenos Aires. I analyze how the members of the brotherhood ritualize the symbols of State power, embodied in these documents. | en-US |
| dc.description | En este artículo se analizarán las representaciones que los migrantes senegaleses construyen en torno la obtención del Documento Nacional de Identidad (DNI) y el Certificado de Residencia Precaria. Al respecto, se podrá observar que los migrantes de la cofradía mouride fetichizan los documentos (pasaportes, documentos de identidad, visados, Certificado de Residencia Precaria) luego de sufrir dificultades para acceder a ellos en las diversas etapas del proceso migratorio. Dichas representaciones serán examinadas en relación con el análisis de un evento religioso mouride en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, y se demostrará cómo los miembros de la cofradía ritualizan los símbolos de poder estatal, plasmados en documentos. | es-ES |
