RESUMEN: En este artículo se analiza la manera como la valoración del medio natural intervino en la producción de la narrativa de la identidad regional antioqueña. Se toman como base las ideas que consignó en sus publicaciones un grupo de escritores antioqueños del siglo XIX y de académicos de distinta procedencia de la primera mitad del siglo XX.ABSTRACT: This article analyzes the way in which appreciation of the natural environment influenced the formation of a narrative of Antioqueño regional identity. The analysis is based on the published ideas found of a group of 19th century Antioqueño writers and a wide range of academics during the first half of the 20th century.
