Blanca Inés Jiménez Profesora Titular Departamento de Trabajo Social Universidad de Antioquia resumen en este artículo se pretende, a partir de un estudio realizado en la Comuna 13 de la ciudad de Medellín, describir y analizar, desde el testimonio de las madres, los diferentes significados que tiene la muerte violenta de un hijo, sus respuestas subjetivas y sociales en términos de continuar o romper con el ciclo de la violencia, y cómo estas respuestas están relacionadas con la concepción que ellas tienen de justicia. Se finaliza el artículo destacando la necesidad de trasformar las concepciones que hacen de estos hechos fenómenos de incumbencia privada para colocarlos en el dominio público y de esa manera reclamar al Estado y a la sociedad que se conozca la verdad y se haga justicia.
dc.description	ABSTRACT:Through a study achieved in the 13 Commune of the city of Medellín, this article aims to describe and analyze (from the mother's testimonies) the different meanings of the violent death of a son, the subjective and social answers in terms of the continuation or breakage of the violence cycle and how these answers have relation with their conception of justice. The article concludes highlighting the need to transform the idea that this facts concern to the private domain and place them in the public domain to open a way to reclaim to the government and the society for the knowledge of the truth for justice to be made.
