dc.description	Se intenta responder a las interrogantes de ¿Qué es la comunicación? ¿Qué problemas enfrentan los profesionales de este campo en un contexto sociocultural cambiante? Los investigadores entienden la comunicación de cuatro maneras diferentes: como un fenómeno social, como objeto de estudio con varias aristas, como un campo educativo y, por último, como un campo científico. Además, se cataloga a la comunicación en tres campos esenciales: científico, educativo y profesional. Se hace referencia a los obstáculos principales que impiden la concepción de la comunicación como una ciencia; así como, la falta de un espacio teórico y conceptual propio para su desarrollo, así como los lastres de ambigüedad que el mediacentrismo le ha supuesto. Es señalada la segmentación del conocimiento y la especialización temprana sin preocuparse por la teoría como otros de los problemas claves de la formación de los profesionales de la comunicación. También, es cuestionado el déficit de la preparación en México de los estudiantes y la falta de preocupación por su preparación cultural y el deber social. ABSTRACTAnswer the questions what is the communications, what issues do the field professionals face on a changing sociocultural context, are the principal issue of the conference. The researchers understand the communication on four different ways: as a social phenomenon, as a study object with different approaches, as an educational field and, finally, as a scientist field. The author catalogues the communication in three essential fields: scientist, educational and professional. During the encounter, pointed out what she assumes are the main obstacles that stop the conception of communication as a science. Also, she indicated the lack of an own theoretical and conceptual space for its development, as well as the impediments of ambiguity that have come from the media-centrism. Forcing the single study of media in our centers is a prejudice, for being considered as the only pertinent ground of communicational science. Furthermore, the knowledge segmentation and the early specialization without worrying about theory as another of the key issues on the communication professionals´ formation. The author highlighted the deficit in the student´s preparation in Mexico, and the lack of worriedness on their cultural tuition and social duty.
