dc.description	This paper shows some problems generated by the simultaneous existence of two important regulations of the Mexican monetary economy of the XIX century: the leasing of the country’s mints and the policy of allowing silver bullion exportations. The commercial dynamic of the Mexican West Coast exposes how, as a result of the absence of a minting house, it was possible to maintain the legal extraction of uncoined precious metals through ports like Mazatlan. As the article demonstrates, the opening of the mint house of Culiacan in 1846 tried to end that practice. The state government, however, continued issuing permits to export uncoined silver in certain moments, which in turn confronted the mint’s lessee with the Mexican national government.	en-US
dc.description	El articulo muestra la problemática generada por la coexistencia de los arrendamientos de las casas de moneda y la política de permitir la exportación de metales en pasta. La dinámica comercial de la costa occidental mexicana sirve como escenario para mostrar cómo, ante la ausencia de una ceca, fue posible mantener la extracción legal de metales sin amonedar por puertos como Mazatlán. La apertura de la casa de moneda de Culiacán en 1846 intentó poner fin a esta situación. No obstante, el gobierno estatal continuó otorgando permisos de exportación en coyunturas políticas particulares. El trabajo analiza el conflicto que esto generó entre el arrendatario y el gobierno mexicano.	es-ES
