dc.description	Este trabalho visa contribuir com reflexões recentes realizadas na antropologia brasileira, que estão levando à problematização das definições de família e parentesco e à reavaliação da concepção nuclearizada da família entre trabalhadores urbanos, no Brasil. Para ultrapassar abordagens centradas analiticamente na concepção da família como unidade de consumo e rendimentos e que têm na noção de “ estratégia de sobrevivência ” seu principal instrumental analítico, as dimensões simbólicas da família e do parentesco são colocadas em foco. Neste artigo, analisando uma forma empírica registrável no Grande Rio – os quintais – argumenta-se que, entre os trabalhadores urbanos, realiza-se uma configuração multidimensional e original que valoriza, simultaneamente, os núcleos familiares específicos e as redes de parentesco e vizinhança que os penetram e lhes dão seu significado. NETWORKS OF FAMILY TIES AND CONCERNS AMONG URBAN WORKERS: WEAVING BACKYARD RELATIONSHIPS This objective of this paper is to contribute to Brazilian anthropology with recent reflections, which can become rather problematic in terms of defining family and family ties and in reevaluating the concept of family nuclei among urban workers in Brazil. In order to go beyond the approaches centered analytically on the conception of the family as a unit of consumption and revenue, whose analytical instrument is the “strategy of survival”, it focus on the main analytical instrument and on the symbolic dimensions of family and family ties. In this article, while analyzing an empirical form experienced in Grande Rio – the backyards – it argues that among urban workers there is a multidimensional and original configuration, which at the same time gives value to the specific family nuclei and to the networks of family and neighborhood that permeate them and give meaning to them.
