dc.description	El artículo aborda el denominado «problema negro» a partir de los discursos científicos cubanos que se nuclearon, desde 1878, en buscar soluciones a la pluralidad étnica que entonces suponía una amenaza a la conformación de la «raza cubana», pensada por la elite como una raza blanca, culta y fundamentalmente católica. Muestra, además, como las distintas corrientes políticas existentes en el país favorecían unas u otras soluciones, así como las teorías que las sustentaban. El texto propone que los partidos políticos no constituían grupos homogéneos en cuanto a doctrinas antropológicas, exponiendo los matices teóricos y el debate que al interior de estas agrupaciones se llevaban a cabo.	es
dc.description	The article addresses the so-called «negro problem» based on the Cuban scientific discourses that have been nucleated, since 1878, in seeking solutions to the ethnic plurality that then posed a threat to the formation of the «Cuban race», thought by the elite as a white, cultured and fundamentally Catholic race. It also shows how the different political currents existing in the country favored one or another solution, as well as the theories that supported them. The text proposes that the political parties did not constitute homogeneous groups in terms of anthropological doctrines, exposing the theoretical nuances and the debate that took place within these groups.	en
