Following the path that the discipline of anthropology has traveled in Peru throughout the Twentieth Century in relationship to other social and political processes that the country and Latin America faced, the author reflects upon the burgeoning of a critical thought in the anthropologies of Latin America and how critical we are of the different social sciences and what these do or fail to do with regards to the problems presented by reality to the inhabitants of each of these countries.A partir de un recorrido por los caminos que siguió la antropología en el Perú a lo largo del siglo XX en relación a los procesos sociales y políticos que atravesó el país y América Latina, el autor reflexiona sobre el surgimiento de un pensamiento crítico en las antropologías de América Latina y sobre cuán críticos somos de lo que hacemos en las diferentes ciencias sociales y de lo que estas hacen o no frente a los problemas planteados por la realidad a los habitantes de cada uno de los países.
