The present paper begins with several sociocultural definitions of globalization in order to outline a problematic intersection in two approaches to modern globalization: One of them opposes reflectivity of social actors to personal biographies, and the other one answers to inclusion-exclusion phenomena with functional differenciation. These are two different points of view showing nevertheless contact zones as to placing the dilemma of personal experiences in the context of eventualities and uncontrollable risks of everyday life.
