| dc.description | Mais do que reminiscências de uma época passada, a historia dos maracatus-nação e daqueles que os fizeram nos fornecem indícios da dinâmica social das comunidades de afro-descendentes, das redes sociais que suportaram as praticas culturais, das negociações entabuladas com as elites como estratégias de sobrevivência e definição de identidades. Ao transitarmos entre práticas e representações em torno da historia dos maracatus-nação e dos terreiros de xangô e jurema, objetivamos pensar como Dona Santa se construiu como rainha, firmando-se come autoridade religiosa e política na sua comunidade, e foi construída historicamente como símbolo máximo da cultura afro-descendente no Recife. When transiting between practices and representations around the history of the maracatus-nation and the places of fetishism of xango and jurema, we objectify to think how Dona Santa has constructed herself as a queen, firming herself as religious and political authority in its community, and was constructed historically as symbol of the afro-descendant culture in Recife.
