El presente trabajo de grado toma como unidad de análisis el barrio San Martín de Porres ubicado en la localidad de Chapinero, en Bogotá, con el objetivo principal de reflexionar en torno a tres categorías analíticas: el espacio geográfico, el territorio y el rol del Estado en la gestión territorial. Para ello, este documento se divide en tres capítulos: en el primero de ellos se analiza el contexto de producción espacial del barrio San Martín de Porres a lo largo de los primeros cincuenta años de ocupación. En el segundo capitulo, se analizan las relaciones sociales que generaron un profundo sentido comunitario en el barrio y que derivaron en la gestión territorial y en la transformación del espacio a través de procesos de recuperación de terreno hasta finales de los años 90. Finalmente, en el capitulo tres se profundiza en torno al papel del Estado en la gestión del modelo territorial de San Martín de Porres, con ocasión a los recientes sucesos que afectaron al barrio: dos inundaciones y avalanchas en el año 2012 y 2013.This dissertation use as unit of analysis San Martín de Porres neighbourhood. It is located in Chapinero, Bogotá. The main objective of this work is delve through three analytical categories: geographic space, territory and State role in government space. This work is divided in three chapters: in the first one the author analyses the context of spatial production in San Martin de Porres neighbourhood, during its first fifty years. In the second chapter, the author examines social relations that created a deep community sense in the population of the neighbourhood. This community sense fond their local territorial model and has influenced spatial transformation in revenge of boundary land, in the nineties. Finally, in the last chapter this work go deep into State rol in management and government of this territory, focus their attention on most recent events: two floods in 2012 and 2013.Sociólogo (a)Pregrado
