| dc.description | After the transformation of the Academy of Fine Arts into a School, with the Reform of 1890, a new regulation was created for the European Travel Prize competition. The new regulation put in practice several improvements that had been required by the artistic medium throughout the past years. Its formulators drafted a document in full harmony with the modern system of the teaching of art adopted by the School, without forgetting however the students who were in the process of training at the old Academy, regarded as retrograde when the Reform of 1890 occurred. Although the training of these students - including prominent names such as Eliseu Visconti - was considered deficient, only they were able to compete for the Travel Prize in the first years of the School. The text analyzes the relationship between the teaching system adopted by the School, the place of the students of the old Academy in this new structure and the Regulation of the Travel Prize to Europe. | en-US |
| dc.description | Após a transformação da Academia das Belas Artes em Escola, com a Reforma de 1890, um novo regulamento foi criado para o concurso de Prêmio de Viagem à Europa. O novo regulamento colocou em prática várias melhorias que vinham sendo requeridas pelo meio artístico ao longo das décadas passadas. Seus formuladores redigiram um documento em plena sintonia com o moderno sistema de ensino de arte adotado pela Escola, sem se esquecerem, no entanto, dos alunos que estavam em processo de formação na antiga Academia, tida como retrógada, quando ocorreu a Reforma de 1890. Embora a formação desses alunos — dentre os quais nomes de destaque, como o de Eliseu Visconti — fosse considerada deficitária, somente eles estavam aptos a concorrer ao Prêmio de Viagem nos primeiros anos de funcionamento da Escola. O texto analisa a relação entre o sistema de ensino adotado pela Escola, o lugar dos alunos da antiga Academia nessa nova estrutura e o regulamento de Prêmio de Viagem à Europa. | pt-BR |
