Este artículo analiza el impacto del fenómeno migratorio en las artes visuales cubanas durante la década de los noventa, un período marcado por la crisis económica del Período especial y un aumento significativo de la emigración. La temática migratoria, antes poco representada, se convirtió en un tema recurrente en el arte cubano, reflejando la sensibilidad social y la necesidad de abordar este asunto. El artículo también aborda la evolución de la política migratoria y cultural cubana, y el creciente interés en los estudios sobre la diáspora  cubana. Finalmente, se analiza el fenómeno del retorno de artistas cubanoamericanos a la escena artística cubana. This article analyzes the impact of the migratory phenomenon on Cuban visual arts during the 1990s, a period marked by the economic crisis of the Special Period and a significant increase in emigration. The migratory theme, previously little represented, became a recurring subject in Cuban art, reflecting social sensitivity and the need to address this issue. The article also discusses the evolution of Cuban migratory and cultural policy, as well as the growing interest in studies on the Cuban diaspora. Finally, it examines the phenomenon of Cuban-American artists returning to the Cuban art scene.
