Descripción:
This study in education and values is an attempt to discover why the ethical-axiological dimension shapes individuals in society. Having specified the key words, three highly related topics were examined: 1. The twenty-first century: crisis, hazards and hopes This aspect deals with the economic crisis and its hazards. In spite of reforms and increased spending, educational systems have not succeeded in overcoming their problems, especially those related to inequality. The economical, social and environmental crisis is taken to be basically moral, for it is extremely important to emphasize and improve ethics education. 2. Human beings: axiological potentiality This aspect considers reflexivity, reciprocity, otherness, complexity, ethicality, the axiological potential of human beings, and hence the ethical-moral nature of all educational processes. 3. Epistemological-theoretical requirements Linked with the above aspects, education in this deeply ethical area is extremely important as a vital instrument for moral development. Reflection, openness, debate and self-criticism are thus central elements and processes.
