Law on Teaching Careers in Chile: The Way Teachers and School Leaders Interpret and Develop its Principles

dc.description	The Chilean educational system is facing important processes of transformation and reform. This article explores the Professional Development System for Teachers (Law 26.093), which has focused its efforts on improving teacher evaluation systems and promoting changes in their working practices and professional training. The objective is to analyse how principals and teachers of the educational system have interpreted this law, and their beliefs about how the principles of the reform can be implemented with a perspective of recontextualization. Therefore, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 13 teachers and members of management teams. The findings presented point out that there is great potential in the development of collaborative work, the need for training for its implementation and formalization.	en-US
dc.description	El sistema educativo chileno enfrenta importantes procesos de transformaciones y reformas. En este artículo se explora el Sistema de Desarrollo Profesional para Docentes (Ley 26.093), que ha enfocado sus esfuerzos en mejorar los sistemas de evaluación docente y promover cambios en sus lógicas de trabajo y su formación profesional. El objetivo es analizar cómo directivos y docentes del sistema educativo han interpretado esta ley, y cómo creen que sus principios pueden ser llevados a cabo en los escenarios institucionales a los que están enfrentados bajo la perspectiva de la recontextualización. Para ello, se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a 13 docentes y miembros de equipos directivos. Los hallazgos presentados señalan que existe un gran potencial en el desarrollo de trabajo colaborativo, la necesidad de formación para su implementación y formalización.	es-ES
