This article describes and analyzes hate crimes that were identified as such by the press committed against members of the homosexual and transsexual communities in Santiago de Cali in three different periods during the 1980s and 1990s. Based on the study of these hate crimes, the author suggests some links between violence, sexuality and social order. Theseissues are understood as processes and social relations which involve power discourses, normative institutions and social representations that embody social control through homicide.In doing so, the author traces some characteristics of the hegemonic social order and sexuality that imply exclusion.Este artículo describe y analiza los crímenes por prejuicio sexual cometidos en contra de lapoblación homosexual y trans, los cuales han sido identificados a través de la prensa en Cali,en tres periodos coyunturales de las décadas de 1980 y 1990. A partir de dichos crímenes,se propone hilar algunos vínculos entre la violencia, la sexualidad y el orden social; asuntosentendidos como procesos y relaciones sociales que implican discursos con poder, institucionesnormativas y representaciones sociales que materializan el control social por mediode los homicidios. De esta forma, se busca rastrear algunas características de orden socialhegemónico y de las sexualidades que implican exclusión.
