dc.description	Abstract: This research paper explores the multiple ways in which social actors interpret and make use of a notion that, within the framework of different research in the field of social sciences, has been registered as one of the most widespread beliefs in the Argentinean and Latin American population: “energy”. From a sociology of knowledge approach, and in dialogue with other academic works that discuss and analyze the transactions of meaning existing between different interpretive frameworks, this paper offers a classification of energy that focuses on three significant vectors: a) energy as a metaphysical category, b) energy as a moral category and c) energy as a scientific category. Within this framework, it is emphasized that, as a category of knowledge, the strength of the term “energy” is given by its versatility in the task of endowing meaning on dissimilar realities, by virtue of its capacity to be invested with multiple meanings. The article is based on research, from a qualitative and interpretative approach, in which in-depth interviews were carried out with users and specialists of a particular therapy: foot reflexology.	en-US
dc.description	El artículo explora los múltiples modos en que los actores sociales interpretan y hacen uso de una noción que, en el marco de diferentes investigaciones en el campo de la ciencias sociales, han registrado como una de las creencias más extendidas en la población argentina –y latinoamericana-: la “energía”. Desde el enfoque de la sociología del conocimiento, e inscribiéndose en un debate académico que discute y analiza las transacciones de sentido existentes entre diferentes marcos interpretativos, el presente trabajo ofrece una clasificación que hace foco en tres vectores significativos: (a) la energía como categoría metafísica, (b) la energía como categoría moral y (c) la energía como categoría –pasible de ser definida en clave- científica. En este marco se enfatiza que, en tanto categoría de conocimiento, la fortaleza del término “energía” se encuentra dada por su versatilidad en la tarea de dotar de significado a procesos y realidades disímiles, en virtud de su capacidad de ser investida de múltiples significados. El artículo se sustenta en una investigación de tesis doctoral, de enfoque cualitativo e interpretativo, a través de entrevistas en profundidad a usuarios y especialistas pertenecientes a un espacio terapéutico en particular: el de la reflexología podal.	es-ES
