dc.description The objective of the article is to describe and analyze the process of reintegration into the labor market of migrants who have returned from the United States to two rural communities in the State of Yucatán, Mexico. These communities have different social and economic dynamics. The ethnographic work and in-depth interviews, conducted for this paper show that the labor reintegration of migrants depends not only on the reasons and the forms of return, but also on factors such as their time of stay in the north, their life experiences in the United States, the amount of time they have been working again in their communities, and the investment and augmentation of their savings.
