| dc.description | The aim of this paper is to contribute with analytic tools that allow to understand the opposition to dams by showing the emotional impact generated by such infrastructures, as well as some strategies of emotion management of the people who oppose the destruction of their territory. The article is based on in-depth interviews with people who resisted against two dams, in Mexico and Spain. The comparison of this two very different cases permits highlighting of the emergence of emotions of trauma as an impact of these projects, both when they flood a valley and when they are dismissed, as well as some emotional management’s strategies observed in both cases. | en-US |
| dc.description | El objetivo es proporcionar herramientas analíticas que permitan entender la oposición a las represas, mostrando el impacto emocional generado por la construcción de estas infraestructuras así como las estrategias de manejo emocional de los habitantes que se oponen a la destrucción de su territorio. El artículo se basa en entrevistas en profundidad con afectados y afectadas que resistieron contra dos proyectos hidráulicos, en México y en España.
