| dc.description | This article identifies the causes that determine and hinder future development prospects of a group of young people living in the shantytown called Gambino Pascual in Quilicura, characterized by social exclusion and stigmatization. The methodology used was a case study using techniques of in-depth interviews and participant observation, in order to reveal underlying mechanisms of social marginalization and stigmatization within the group, through the reconstruction and understanding of everyday life, shaped by their social spaces, social representations and social interactions. It is is possible to argue that the social marginalization of these young people has been driven mainly by the poor design of social policies implemented by the State of Chile, which do not ensure adequate socialization processes and social integration. | en-US |
| dc.description | El artículo identifica las causas que determinan y dificultan las perspectivas de desarrollo futuro de un grupo de jóvenes que habitan en la Villa Pascual Gambino de la comuna de Quilicura, caracterizados por la marginalidad y la estigmatización social. La metodología utilizada fue un estudio de caso, mediante las técnicas de la entrevista en profundidad y observación participante, con el objetivo de develar que subyace a los mecanismos de marginalidad y estigmatización social al interior del grupo, a través de la reconstrucción y comprensión de su vida cotidiana, conformados por sus espacios sociales, representaciones sociales e interacciones sociales. Se puede indicar que la marginación social de estos jóvenes se ha originado principalmente por los deficientes diseños de las políticas sociales implementadas por el Estado de Chile, las cuales no garantizan adecuados procesos de socialización e integración social. | es-ES |
