dc.description The objective this study was evaluate the agroindustrial performance, estimate genetic parameters and selection gain for productivity in progenies of sugarcane under field conditions. The experiment was carried out at the Factory Saint José, Igarassu (PE), during the 2008/2009 growing season. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized block design, and five replicates. The variables were: TCH, TPH, PC, BRIX, ATR and ATR t/ha. The analysis of variance and estimate of genetic parameters were performed. To estimate the selection gain, was used the method of direct selection. The F test showed significance and high estimate of mean heritability for TCH, TPH and ATR t/ha variables, indicating the possibility of successful selection based on those characters. Through the group averages, evidenced by Scott and Knott test, the progeny from crosses between genotypes RB83102 x RB855035 stood out above all others when it comes to productivity. By estimating the selection gain, it was found that it is possible for the practice of direct selection obtain genetic gain is significant in relation to productivity. en-US
dc.description Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar o desempenho agroindustrial, estimar parâmetros genéticos e o ganho por seleção para produtividade em famílias de cana-de-açúcar em condições de campo. O experimento foi conduzido na área agrícola da Usina São José, município de Igarassu - PE, durante o ano agrícola 2008/2009. Utilizou-se o delineamento experimental de blocos casualizados com cinco repetições. As variáveis analisadas foram: toneladas de cana por hectare (TCH), toneladas de pol por hectare (TPH), pol % corrigida (PCC), teor de sólidos solúveis (BRIX), açúcar total recuperável (ATR) e toneladas de açúcar total recuperável por hectate (ATR t/ha). Realizou-se a análise de variância e estimativa de parâmetros genéticos. Para estimar o ganho por seleção utilizou-se a metodologia da seleção direta. O Teste F revelou significância e alta estimativa de herdabilidade média para as variáveis TCH, TPH e ATR t/ha, indicando possibilidade de sucesso na seleção com base nesses caracteres. Através do agrupamento de médias, evidenciado pelo teste de Scott e Knott, a família oriunda do cruzamento entre os genótipos RB83102 x RB855035 destacou-se sobre as demais em relação à produtividade.
