dc.description	A experiment was conducted in the Universidade Federal do Roconcavo da Bahia (UFRB), under greenhouse conditions, with the purpose of verify the action of liquid giberelin over the emergency of castor bean seedlings. Castor bean seeds from BRS 188 Paraguaçu cultivar were submerged for 3 hours in a solution of giberelic acid (GA3) on concentrations zero, 50, 100 and 150 μL L-1 and then planted in plastic trays, containing washed sand. An entirely random alignment was used with five treatments and five repetitions. Each experimental unit was formed by a tray, where were planted 25 seeds. The number of emerged seeds was daily registered. On the fifth day the percentage of emergency was calculated, and on the thirtieth day it was evaluated the measurement from the root to the aerial parts. The dry mass was, also, evaluated after three days in the greenhouse with artificial ventilation under 65 °C. The conclusion is that the gibberelin on the dose of 100 μL L-1 is the best treatment to the percentage of the first counting, index of emergency speed, emergency, length and dry mass of the root and aerial parts of castor beans plants.	en-US
dc.description	Um experimento em condições de casa-de-vegetação foi conduzido no Centro de Ciências Agrárias da Universidade Federal do Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB), com o objetivo de verificar a ação da pré-embebição de sementes em giberelina líquida sobre a emergência de plântulas de mamoneira. Sementes de mamona da cultivar BRS 188 Paraguaçu foram imersas por 3h em soluções de ácido giberélico (AG3) nas concentrações zero, 50, 100 e 150 μL L-1, em seguida foram semeadas em bandejas plásticas contendo areia lavada. Utilizou-se o delineamento inteiramente casualizado com cinco tratamentos e quatro repetições. Cada unidade experimental constou de 25 sementes por bandeja. Diariamente registrou-se o número de sementes emergidas. Aos cinco dias calculou-se o percentual de emergência e aos 30 dias avaliou-se o comprimento de raiz, parte aérea e massa seca das plântulas. Avaliou-se, também, a matéria seca das plântulas após três dias em estufa com ventilação forçada a 65°C. O uso da giberelina na dose de 100 μL L-1 melhora o percentual de primeira contagem, índice de velocidade de emergência, emergência, comprimento e massa seca de raiz e parte aérea das plântulas de mamona.
