Action of an investigation aimed at a critical mapping of Latin American musical films that have left important marks in the History of Cinema of Latin America, this article is dedicated to talk briefly about the coming of rock'n'roll to the Portuguese- ans Spanish-speaking cinema in the Americas and to reflect on two moments in which rock and other genres sheltered under the scope of so called "youth music" mastered soundtracks of Brazilian musical films. Ação de uma investigação que visa a um mapeamento crítico de filmes musicais latino-americanos que deixaram marcas importantes na História do Cinema da América Latina, este dedica-se a falar brevemente sobre a chegada do rock’n roll ao cinema lusófono e hispanohablante das Américas e a refletir sobre dois momentos nos quais o rock e outros gêneros abrigados sob o manto da então chamada “música jovem” dominaram trilhas sonoras de musicais brasileiro.
